The strategy to be presented in the future conference Covid-19 Lockdown at the Wellcome Institute is based on his paper Public Health Policy Issues with the Reproductive Number R has been published by the Science and Technology Commons Select Committee together with the Health and Social Care Commons Select Committee as part of its Inquiry “Coronavirus: lessons learned” (#CLL0033 – https://committees.parliament.uk/writtenevidence/16278/pdf/ ). His subsequent letter about this paper, submitted as Written Evidence to the Economic Affairs Lords Select Committee for its Inquiry “Employment and Covid-19”, has also been published (#EMP0067 – https://committees.parliament.uk/writtenevidence/18656/pdf/ ). These are based on my book Covid-19 Lockdown Analysed published in April. Thus his work is on epidemiology-economics interface.
Furthermore it would help avoid another world complete lockdown should a new virus, or a new coronavirus variant, arise in the future as in his book Virus Attack. For a medieval quarantine as in 2020-1 can be avoided, albeit that a mitigated lockdown would still be necessary.
The world has suffered immense economic and civil liberties damage, partially unnecessarily; it would help to start to resolve this now.
